Make It A Priority

Start Small

A good rule of thumb is to always start small then increase. A good recommendation is to start with only a couple of days a week then increase over time. The same thing goes for the length and intensity of the workout. You don’t want to go 0-100. The reason this works is if you start off super hard then you might end up not proceeding with it. The goal is to create a habit, this means you have to get introduced first instead of jumping right in.

To put it into reference as far as the gym goes, you can start with a 30 minute to 1-hour workout for 2 days a week then increase as you go. Maybe working up to 5 days a week for a longer duration, whatever works for you.

Stay Close

In most cases, the reason working out is not apart of your daily routine is because of time. This means you should join a gym or whatever form you are agreeing on that is close to your home. The only exception is if you’re biking or running. In this case, you can do this right from home so you’re in luck.

Just know if you were to join a gym that is 20 minutes away, that time adds up! That is 40 minutes there and back plus an hour+ workout, that’s a lot. Just make sure to try and eliminate that drive as much as possible to make this process as easy as possible.

Relief

The best part about working out other than all the obvious health benefits is using it as a getaway. This will not only allow you to relieve stress, but you can also use it to tune out all the chaos in day to day life. Pretty much a win-win no matter how you look at it.
